If you have a dedicated audio device such as an audio interface, or instrument with built-in audio capabilities, you can connect it to Melodics.

How to connect your audio device

Most audio devices will work with Melodics. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Connect your audio device via USB. Some "class compliant" devices will work immediately, others will require drivers to be installed. Please check the manufacturer's website or user manual to find out if your device needs a driver.

  2. Open Melodics and navigate to the "Settings" screen.

  3. Under the "Audio" section, select your audio device in the "Selected audio device" dropdown menu.

All audio from Melodics will come through this device, including metronome, backing track, preview sound, etc.

Selecting different outputs

If your audio device supports multiple pairs of stereo outputs, you can choose which output you would like Melodics to come out of in the "Output channels" menu.

If this menu doesn't exist for you, that means your audio device doesn't support multiple pairs of outputs and Melodics will come through the MAIN output.

Having trouble connecting?

  • Ensure that the USB cable is connected properly.

  • Try a different USB cable or different USB port on your computer. Avoid using a USB hub or USB extensions.

  • Restart your computer.

  • Close all other applications that are running in the background.

  • Ensure you have any necessary drivers installed for your audio device.

You may be able to set your audio device as your main system output. If so, choose "OS default" in Melodics. This will use your system's default output for Melodics sounds.
