Connect your Blocks
Connect your ROLI Lightpad Block to your computer via USB. If you‘re on a Mac, you can connect via Bluetooth instead. See Bluetooth Connection instructions below.
ROLI Dashboard Settings
Open ROLI Dashboard. Your Lightpad Block will automatically appear.
Select the “Apps” tab.
Scroll down and select the Melodics app.
You should see a yellow ‘M‘ appear on your Lightpad. You can now close ROLI Dashboard.
Melodics Settings
Now launch Melodics and make sure you have Pads selected as your instrument. Your Lightpad Block should be automatically connected, but if not, go to the Settings screen and select it from the “Connected hardware” dropdown menu.
Troubleshooting
If your Lightpad Block is still not connecting, try some of the following troubleshooting tips.
Update your Blocks – in ROLI Dashboard, while your Seaboard Block is connected you can hit the “Updates” button. This will ensure the firmware on your device is up to date.
Multiple Blocks – if you‘re using multiple ROLI Blocks at once, try connecting one at a time.
Map your controller – if your device doesn‘t automatically appear in the “Connected hardware” dropdown menu, hit the “Map your controller” button to create a manual mapping.
Battery – if you‘re connecting wirelessly, ensure that your device has sufficient battery life.
Bluetooth settings
If you‘re on a Mac, you can connect your Lightpad Block via Bluetooth.
Go to Spotlight by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner. Type “Audio/MIDI Setup” and double click to open.
Go to the menu bar and click Window > Show MIDI Studio.
Go to the menu bar and click MIDI Studio > Open Bluetooth Configuration.
It will start to automatically detect Bluetooth devices. Turn on your Lightpad Block and wait for it to be detected.
Click “Connect”.
